George Williams College

Federal Work Study

George Williams College of Aurora University is committed to providing meaningful work opportunities, enabling students to make the transition from on-site student work to future internships and life after college.

Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a financial aid program based on need computed from the information provided on the FAFSA. Students who are not eligible for FWS or who have depleted FWS eligibility may work on site and be paid through regular wages.

Even though FWS monies are listed on your financial aid offer letter, it is not credited to your student account like a grant or scholarship. FWS earnings are paid to the student in the form of a bi-weekly payroll check. Students may work up to 15 hours per week and are paid following the current minimum wage guidelines.

A variety of on-site student employment opportunities are available at George Williams College. Students are advised to weigh several factors such as the job requirements, their skill level, their interests, and their class load before pursuing available positions.
