GWC announces $1,000 scholarships for Wisconsin residents, $2,000 scholarships for Walworth County residents

George Williams College of Aurora University (GWC) is increasing its scholarship offerings for undergraduate students enrolling for the 2018–2019 academic year. The awarded funds are renewable for up to four years.

A new $1,000 award, the Wisconsin Scholarship, is given to incoming freshmen or transfer students with permanent Wisconsin residency. GWC has also increased the Walworth County Hometown Scholarship from a $1,000 award to a $2,000 award, which is given to incoming freshmen or transfer students with permanent residency in Walworth County, Wisconsin.

“Our scholarship programs for local students provide evidence of AU’s commitment to serving the educational needs of Walworth County and Wisconsin,” said Patrick Peyer, vice president for enrollment. “These type of awards can be life changing not only for the student but also the family and community. One life can touch many.”

Freshmen or transfer students who receive the $2,000 Hometown Scholarship or $1,000 Wisconsin Scholarship may also be eligible for additional financial aid and scholarships. More than 98 percent of GWC students receive some form of financial aid.
