Hardware Requirements

Students in the MSCS program must have a laptop with sufficient capabilities. While PCs are preferred over Macs, both are acceptable.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

• Processor: Quad-Core Intel i5 or AMD equivalent (8 cores recommended)
• Memory (RAM): At least 16 GB
• Disk Space: 500 GB free disk space
• Drive Type: Solid State Drive (SSD)
• Operating System: Windows 10 or later (64-bit) or Windows Server 2012 R2 or later
• Network: High-speed network connection
• USB Ports: Depending on your use, USB 3.0

Recommended Hardware for Optimal Performance

• Processor: Intel Xeon or i7/i9, AMD Ryzen 9, or better (with multiple cores and threads)
• Memory (RAM): 64 GB or more
• Primary Drive: 1 TB NVMe SSD
• Secondary Drive: Large-capacity SSD or RAID array
• Graphics Card: Dedicated GPU like NVIDIA GTX or RTX series
• Operating System: Windows 10 or later (64-bit) or Windows Server 2012 R2 or later
• Network: High-speed network connection
• USB Ports: Depending on your use, USB 3.0
