Final Exam Schedule

Final Examination Policy

Classes are expected to meet during the scheduled final examination period as part of the required instructional time for the semester. If a final examination of any type is given in a course, it should be given at the time the examination is officially scheduled during the final examination period. Students with questions regarding final examination periods should consult their instructors.

  1. No student should be expected to write more than two (2) final examinations on the same day. Any students who are scheduled for more than two finals on the same day should arrange with their instructors to have alternative examination times prior to the start of the final examination period. Alternative examination times are available on Thursday and Friday of examination week.
  2. There are many uniquely scheduled classes which do not meet the parameters of standard class periods. Courses that meet during the day once per week (e.g., Monday 1:15-3:45 p.m., etc.) can fit into a standard examination period such as 2:30-5:15 p.m. on Monday. Saturday courses and evening courses meeting once per week will have their examination periods during their regular class times.
  3. Courses that occur in the first 8-week module (Module I) of fall or spring term should have their final examinations on the last day of their regularly scheduled class periods.
  4. Courses that occur in the second 8-week module (Module II) of fall or spring term should follow the corresponding final examination schedule. Courses that are meeting more than once a week during the 8-week modules will meet for regular class periods and then utilize the last class meeting as the final examination session.
  5. Summer courses, various graduate courses, laboratories, clinical experiences, internships, and 1-credit-hour courses are not required to meet for final examinations. Students should contact their instructors if they are unsure of their examination requirements.
  6. Final grades are due to the Office of the Registrar by 12 p.m. (noon) on the Tuesday following Finals Week. Final grades will need to be entered through Self-Service per instructions from the Office of the Registrar. NOTE: Final grades for graduating students will be due by midnight on the Thursday of Finals Week.
  7. Students who miss their final examinations must consult with their instructors to determine if they are allowed to make up the examinations. If permitted, students must consult with their instructors to complete Testing Request Forms, which are required for every examination. Students who are asking for alternative times to take their examinations must arrange for these situations directly with their instructors.
