Starting in the fall of 2018, this program will be offered at the AU campus only. We are no longer accepting new applications for this program at the GWC campus. Please contact the Office of Admission at 630-844-5533 or for additional information.

Earn your undergraduate degree in parks and recreation leadership with us. We take the class out of the classroom and apply hands-on-learning.

If you enjoy sports, outdoor adventure, organizing special events, marketing recreational equipment, managing interesting programs or helping others get the most out of their leisure time, there may be a place for you in parks and recreation.

Our program has a long history of graduating excellent leaders in recreation. You will become part of a large and interconnected alumni network with a proud tradition of commitment to the profession. Parks and recreation leadership involves creating, directing, and managing the programs and business operation systems of recreation and leisure agencies, such as park districts, outdoor experiential education centers, state and national parks, recreation centers, youth organizations (like the YMCA), camps, conference centers, special events, resorts, campuses and private recreation businesses.
